How to Beat the Weekday Blues!

Hey there everyone!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and are ready to kick off this week with a happy and healthy start! I know everyone hates weekdays, but I am here to tell you, that they don’t have to be so bad! Even though it may be the start of the week, but it doesn’t have to be the worst day ever. With the right routine to follow and a positive outlook on the day, you can TOTALLY survive your week!

Nutrients! 

I like to try and start off my mornings with a good breakfast. If I don’t end up having the time then I try and grab a granola bar or pick up something on the go. I have found that eating something in the morning makes me feel more energized and more awake throughout the course of the day!

Coffee! Coffee! Coffee!

I like to start everyday with a good cup of coffee or tea. Mainly coffee in the morning, and then as the day progresses, I like to grab a warm cup of green tea with lemon to keep me going! Drinking coffee and/ or tea in the morning can give you that little push of caffeine that will help you get your morning started and make the rest of your day!

Turn Up the Music!

Be sure to play those happy songs in the morning when getting ready for your day. I have a specific playlist set up of a bunch of songs from happy & energetic to relaxation beats. Having music helps me wake up and begin the rest of my day!

Do Something You Love! 

I love to try and leave some time between my busy schedule to do a hobby that I love. For instance, I love photography, so I love to go out, walk around for 30 minutes & snap some pictures! I find that doing something that you love to do whether it be reading, photography or going on a run, try to make time for the small hobbies that you have!

Leave Some Time for Relaxation 

Weekdays can get totally stressful. Between classes, homework, work, clubs, and more, we don’t normally have so much downtime, BUT it is important to leave time for relaxation. Whether you do some yoga or relax and read cozy in bed, you should leave a little bit of time for you to relax & unwind from a stressful schedule.

Spend Time With Those You Love

My friends & boyfriend mean everything to me! Especially when I am having a long and stressful day, they are the only people who can make those long days better.  Whether it be dinner, movie, or even just sitting around and talking over coffee, sometimes just spending time with those you love make everything better.

Exercise!

Okay, so I am still working on this one for myself. I am all for trying to stay fit, and I completely understand of it is hard to find the time after a long day, but exercising really does help! I have been trying to push myself to go to the gym everyday, no matter the day or how tired I am, I am trying to push myself to stay active. Now, exercising doesn’t have to be just going to the gym. Take a fitness class or join an IM sport! There are many ways to stay active & it most definitely helps beat those weekday blues!

Surround Yourself With Positive People!

I personally am not one to spend my time with people who always make it hard for me to maintain a positive attitude. On top of everything else going on on the weekdays, I do not want to waste my time with people who have bad attitudes. I found that if you surround yourself with positive people in your life, your days won’t be so bad!
