Hey there everyone!
I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to kick off your week strong with a positive start! It has been freezing cold here in Grand Rapids, since we’ve entered November, but cold weather isn’t going to dull my month! I have recently been inspired by a book that I read this past summer called GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. Some of you may have read it already and I hope you all loved it as much as I did! I took a lot of the lessons that were taught through her book & have put them to use in my everyday life. Hopefully these tips and tricks that I use can help you become your true #girlboss!
Now, I am not perfect. A few of these ideas that I write about for this post, I am just recently getting acquainted to. With that said, I have started doing a lot of these tips & they really do work! I have never been more motivated to get through these weeks like a true girlboss.
Wake up with positive thoughts
Rise and shine girlboss! When you wake up in the morning you should try your best to surround yourself with positive reminders. I love waking up and looking at pictures of my friends and family because they help me remember to work hard and strive to be the best version of myself that I can be. I also love to scroll through my Pinterest and look at my inspiration boards to help set my tone for the rest of the day! If you have something that makes you happy surround yourself with it every chance you get!
Get organized & use a planner
One major thing that I have learned through my years at school is that having a planner is a must! My planner and bullet journal have become my life-line throughout the school year. Of course if you are a girlboss, you tend to be busy! Balancing work, homework, classes, even social events, you are always on the go! My planner is the 2018 Herb Garden Planner from Rifle Paper Co. and I love it! I have also become very interested in bullet journaling! Bullet journaling has helped me organize the more personal side of my life. Overall, writing anything down & creating to-do-lists is very efficient. Checking things off your list is the most satisfying feeling!
Start a good workout regimen
Now this is something that I struggle to find time or even motivation for, but I found that doing short 5 minute workouts before bed or when you first wake up in the morning help me feel active and refreshed. If you have more time on your hands then go attend a zumba class or a cardio session at the gym! If you are in a rut and can’t seem to find a good routine that works best for you, do some research! With Pinterest & Instagram fitness pages you can find so many routines to choose from that could work best for you!
Start your day before noon
Don’t get me wrong, I love to sleep and I wish I could sleep all day long, but waking up early has definitely had a positive effect on my life. Now, I’m not saying that waking up early is easy by any means, but I have found that waking up early and getting my day started early has made me feel more productive in the morning! I love to get up and have some “me time” while reading a book or scrolling through my social media. So grab a big cup of coffee (or tea), sit down & start your morning off right!
Eat well and drink lots of water
This is true for anyone whether you are a girlboss or not. Personally, I tend to feel better throughout the day if I eat healthier. I try to do it as often as I can, but not all the time is it possible if you are always on the run. Drinking water has also been proven to help me (along with my coffee) to help me last throughout the day. Just overall having a healthier lifestyle is great for anyone and everyone!
Dress for success
I always try my best to always dress my best. Believe me there is nothing that I want more than to throw on a pair of leggings and a sweatshirt and start my day. However, throwing on a pair of nice jeans and a cozy sweater help me me feel confident and feel my absolute best! Whatever outfit makes you feel confident throw it on and start your day off right.
Hustle and Stay Humble
Remember that being a girlboss is always a balancing act. You need to feel empowered but also need to stay grounded in your life. If you are able to recognize your accomplishments and be able to grow from them then you can tackle anything. By doing this, you’re able to continue working equally as hard as everyone else. As a girlboss you should know when to flaunt what you go and stay humble.
Let me know some of your tips on how you tackle your week like a true girlboss!
I hope some of these tips help you have the best week ever! If you keep working hard and treating yourself right then you too can strut your stuff girlboss. You can achieve great things is you just believe in hard work and yourself! Thanks for tuning in!
