Motivating Yourself + Get Inspired

Hey there everyone!

Well, the semester is finally coming to an end & we are in finals week… ugh! This week is the busiest week of the semester. It’s full of group projects, last minute assignments & of course, exams. Finals week is by far the most stressful week of anyone’s semester so, sometimes it can be hard to find any motivation and inspiration not only for finals but anytime. Over the years I have found tips that have helped me refuel my motivation & stay on top of my game!

I find it extremely difficult to find any motivation to do some of the things that I want/need to do.  Motivation can be something that will hit me in waves. Some days I will be feeling extremely motivated and knock out everything that I need to get done & other days I find it difficult to even move from place to place. So here are some of my tips on not only to gain motivated but simultaneously inspired!

Write down your tasks

This always helps me sort out my ideas by writing down at least 3-5 tasks that I want to get done throughout the day. Be sure to be realistic with these goals so that you are more inclined to get them done. After I write all my tasks down, it helps me to better organize my day around these tasks and feel more productive throughout the day. The 50/10 rule goes perfectly with this idea! You work on a specific task for 50 minutes and then take a 10-minute break afterward in order to refocus your energy. I found that this rule helps me feel ten times more motivated when I have a time limit for my breaks so I don’t sit & binge Netflix all day.

Reflect on the daily

I am still working hard at trying to make this a priority, but I find that it helps when I do do this! Take a few minutes at the end of the day & focus on some reflection. Self-evaluate your day & go over what worked for you and what did not. If you were having a down day and didn’t have a great attitude then you know what you want to fix the next day!

Head Out

Finding a place that you feel comfortable and able to be inspired is the most important tip. I wish I could go out to more coffee places downtown ( and I plan on it soon) but for now, I love going and sitting on campus by the coffee center and working on what needs to be done. Something about having a cup of coffee in front of me & being surrounded by people working makes me feel inspired & more motivated to finish my own tasks.

Brighten up your space

Sitting in a dark & dreary room is no way to kick it into motivation mode! Having a space that is not only clean but also is bright & refreshing is by far the best way to feel inspired & motivated to get through your day. Bring in some nice flowers or let the sun shine through your shades!

Change things up

Doing the same routine every day can be the most boring thing EVER! Try to change up your daily routine & get out of the weekday rut. Maybe take a different route to work or try a new place grab lunch! Whatever you need to do to change up your day, then do it.

Dress to impress

Nothing makes me feel more inspired or motivated than when I am looking and feeling my best! Something about looking good & feeling good just helps me feel that extra boost of motivation to get through my tasks. So through on that cute dress & strut your stuff around the town!

Focus on what makes you happy

Motivation isn’t all about just doing tasks, sometimes you need a short break in order to refuel yourself & focus on your wellbeing! Something that makes me happy is going out and reading a good book or sitting down & watching a show that I normally don’t have time to watch. Taking some time to just decompress & refuel your motivation is the most important thing you can do.

Let me know what tips you have that help you feel more motivated throughout the week! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week & I can’t wait to talk to you all again real soon!

Sending Positive Vibes,
