Busy Week + Taking Care of You

 

Hey there everyone!

Oh, my goodness, this past week has been super crazy between working and finalizing everything with my spring classes & I feel like I haven’t had a moment to do anything for myself! One of the things that I hate is feeling drained & feeling exhausted which is exactly what has been going on. Since this has been happening lately, I thought that it would be a perfect opportunity to share some of my tips for taking care of yourself during a busy week so you can avoid feeling drained & exhausted.

Get enough sleep

Making sure that you get enough sleep during the week is a key factor in your wellbeing for the rest of the week. When I have a busy schedule, sometimes it is difficult to make sleep a priority. It has been studied that while we are in our deepest levels of sleep that our immune system rebuilds itself & replenish our serotonin and norepinephrine levels. So if we are not getting enough sleep then it will have consequences for our health & mood. If you have a busy week ahead of you make sure that you leave enough time to sleep!

Squeeze in some time for the gym

I know, I know, it can be difficult to find the motivation to go to the gym while in the midst of a busy week, but I promise you it helps a lot! I’m not trying to say that you need to go and do a long workout in a gym, instead maybe try and wake up a little early in the morning or during a break go for a quick walk or do some easy yoga poses. Any form of small exercise throughout the day will help reduce stress and keep your motivation high for the rest of the day!

Tech detox

Sometimes there are days that I am constantly looking at my phone or laptop & forget to pay attention to everything else around me. I feel as if looking at my phone makes me more exhausted throughout the week. Something that I am working on is taking some time for a tech detox & having a few moments of peace. Turn everything off, put it in your box & be with yourself for a little bit. You will see results in no time once you clear the distractions from your day!

Read a book

For me, especially during the summer, I absolutely love to read in my free time! It’s the perfect way for me to relax & unwind for a long week. The series I am enjoying at the moment is called Red Queen & so far it is really good! I can’t wait to dive deeper into the book!

Pamper yourself

It’s time to break out the candles, grab the bath bombs & take a long soak in your bathtub!  During a busy week, I find the best medicine is to treat- yo-self to a little pampering sometime during the week. It is the perfect way to re-vamp your energy to push forward for the week!

Make you a priority 

I know it’s difficult to make yourself a priority on a busy week, but sometimes you have to pump the breaks & take a minute to relax. No matter how busy you get, you can fit self-care into your schedule by deciding to make it a priority for you!

I hope some of these tips help you feel a little more refreshed & rejuvenated for your future busy weeks that lie ahead! Next time you have a long or crazy week, don’t let it get the best of you.
