Hey there beautiful people,
I want to apologize for not posting lately. Last week was crazy between finals week & work plus I haven’t really been in the right state of mind to write. I have been struggling with my own self-love lately which has been bringing down other aspects of my life. Most days I am trying to keep the positive attitude that I have when I write, but if I’m being honest, there are days that make it hard for me to see the upside to a lot of situations. We all go through these moments in life where we don’t feel good enough so, I have decided that these rough moments will not bring me down! For those of you maybe going through the same times that I am, I’m hoping that you can keep some of this advice in the back of your mind the next time a negative aspect comes into your life.
Learn to reframe negativity
You can never fully avoid negativity in your life, but you can learn to redirect your focus from the negative to the positive. Getting into a habit of acknowledging the negative but then searching for an alternative option can help you find the way back to a positive mindset quickly. Being positive is a choice and the faster you learn to reframe, over time it will become second nature for you to turn to a positive interpretation of events.
Ask yourself the important questions
The one question I always try and ask myself is, “will this matter a month or year from now?” Sometimes in the moment one negative thought or situation can seem like the end of the world, but a few days may pass & you may see it otherwise. Don’t forget that the moment won’t last & that the moment will heal & life will go on no matter what!
Live in a positive environment
Surrounding yourself with people and an environment that make you feel lesser of a person can have a huge effect on your outlook on life. Being able to have positive influences on your life, both people & environment, will end up lifting you up instead of dragging you down.
Make changes to the things you can control
Something that I am trying to be better at not doing is focusing on the aspects of my life that I can’t change or control. I have found that spending time worrying about something that I can’t change isn’t worth my time or effort. In most situations it’s possible for you to take control of certain aspects of your life & make things better for yourself.
Accept the things you can’t change
There will be some aspects of your life that you must accept you cannot change. Something that was hard for me to accept is that not everyone in your life is meant to stay in your life forever. No matter what some things in your life whether they are good or bad can’t be changed, so it’s up to you to focus on the positive aspects of your life instead of having focus on the parts that you can’t change.
I hope that these little bits of advice can help you the next time that you may be struggling to lift yourself up during a difficult time. These small tips are meant to help you find positivity even in the most negative of times.
