Hey there beautiful friends!
I hope you all had an amazing weekend and are ready to keep the positivity going through the rest of the week. This past weekend was such a great time! I was able to spend quality time with my friends, my boyfriend & myself. It was so nice to have a long weekend to refocus my energy on the other important aspects of my life. Since I have entered this new semester, I have been forced to rearrange my schedule to fit around my classes & work. I have more time this semester to focus on my own morning routine which is probably my favorite part of the day (lowkey)! I never used to like waking up in the morning, but now I am all for waking up and being productive. So today, I thought I would share some of my favorite tips on becoming more of a morning person and kicking off your day on the right note!
Force yourself out of bed
Now for me, some days are easier than others, but I found that once I kick my butt out of bed and start my day the more active I am in the morning. Now don’t get me wrong I have fallen victim to the warm bed sheets and comfort of my pillow, but I promise that if you force yourself out of bed, around the same time everyday, you will see a difference in how you go about the rest of your day!
Climb into bed decent time the night before
In college sometimes it can be hard to follow this rule to a tee, but I try my best to be in bed at a decent time in order to wake up refreshed and ready to start my day. I’m not saying I go straight to sleep right when I crawl into bed. Sometimes I’ll watch an episode of a show (most recently YOU on Netflix) or do some last minute browsing until I become sleepy enough to roll over and sleep. My point is to try and curl up in bed and slowly start to wind down in order to be refreshed for the next morning!
Caffeine is key
I never feel 100% ready to kick off my day unless I have a steaming cup of coffee in my hand. I know that some people don’t enjoy coffee as much as I do, so whatever wakes you up in the morning, pour yourself a glass and start to wake up.
Turn up your favorite playlist
This helps me not only wake up but boost my confidence for the day! I found this awesome confidence playlist with lots of bass heavy music to pump me up for the day ahead. My latest favorite song to listen to in the morning has to be Ariana Grande’s latest hit, 7 Rings & if you haven’t heard it yet then hop on now and listen!
Make yourself a delicious breakfast
This always depends on what my schedule looks like for the day, but I try to make myself an easy breakfast in the morning before I kick off my day. Normally, it’s just something simple like scrambled eggs with sausage and fruit of some sort (I know pretty boring), but it fuels me for the day which is always a plus!
Do some form of exercise in the morning
Even though you may not have time in the morning to hit the gym, try doing some simple exercises before hopping in the shower. You don’t have to do anything complicated or cardio filled, even doing some simple yoga or stretching is a great way to wake up your body & set the mood for the rest of the day!
Keep the routine
Tricking yourself into becoming a morning person is all about the routine. If you wake up around the same time everyday, it should become easier for you to do it habitually throughout the week. So, keep up the routine you have for your mornings and I promise you will see a difference in the way you attack your mornings!
Everyone handles their morning in their own way, but I hope that some of these tips give you the little push you need to kick off your days on the right note.
