Pursuing Your Ambitions + GIRLBOSS Tips

Hello beautiful people!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend and are kicking off the week on a positive note. I am sorry I did not post anything earlier this week like I normally do. In Grand Rapids, we have been going through some intense snow storms and freezing temperatures so, I have been taking this time to relax & refocus my energy to organizing everything in my life. With the end of my college career coming to an end in a matter of months, I have been thinking a lot about internships and careers for the future. I have always been someone who has big goals and dreams for herself so, today I thought I would share some tips I have gathered to help not just myself, but anyone else who is trying to pursue their ambitions!

Find a mentor

Finding someone who can support you and help you find the right direction to move forward in is key when trying to pursue your goals. I have stayed in contact with certain professors I’ve had or even good friends in the same industry as myself who give me insight and guidance when I need it which, has been a huge help in finding the right path for myself. I encourage you if you are looking for help in whatever area you are pursuing, don’t be afraid to reach out to someone who you feel will be the best mentor you need to reach that dream!

Surround yourself with supportive people

When you surround yourself with people who don’t support your ambitions, then you won’t feel the confidence or drive in yourself to push to meet those goals. Keeping the people in your life who raise you up, but at the same time aren’t afraid to tell you the truth is very important for you to push to meet your ambitions!

Be open to any possibilities

Don’t be afraid to take any possible opportunities that may come your way! Turing away opportunities even if they are small, or not what you envisioned, could shut any possible doors that could open from that experience. You never know if one of those small opportunities could turn into a door leading you to the dream you imagined.

Take the criticism & be able to move forward

In life, you are going to face setbacks and that’s okay! You may receive some harsh critiques on work you put your heart and soul into but, it’s how you are able to take those criticisms and move forward being better than before. No matter what happens, keep your pretty head up, and move forward in a positive way!

Stop the bad habits

If you find yourself in the same routine, but for whatever reason, it is not propelling you towards your aspirations, then switch it up! Start adapting some good habits that will help you reach your goals faster and more efficiently. I can be a horrible procrastinator and sometimes that really affects the quality of my work or pushes me behind in other areas of my life. Now, I try to get things done in a more time-efficient manner so I can feel more proud of the quality of work I am putting in!

Help others (because they may be able to help later)

Something that I always stress not just to myself but to others, is to never burn any bridges. You never know if that person may be able to help you get connected with the right people in the future! Be open to help others & good karma will find its way back to you.

Don’t give up

If the road ahead is looking a little rough and you aren’t sure if anything you are doing is actually working, don’t give up! If you have a passion and drive for something, then giving up when the going gets tough is never going to get you to where you need to be.

I hope that this post helps you dig deep and find the drive to never stop pushing to get where you want to be in life! I wish you all the best for the rest of your week & I am working hard on getting a better schedule in order for you both on the blog and my social media. There are always lots of new and exciting things your way, so keep a look out for all of it. Thank you for reading & I will talk to you all again soon!
